The main goal of this research is to estimate the crowding out effect of tobacco consumption on other consumption items. Research is based on HBS data for Serbia for the years 2006–2017. The study analyzes the effect on 11 product groups.
The results of the analysis indicate that tobacco expenditures in Serbia have a negative impact on the overall consumption structure in Serbia.
